Our Guided reading this week is a recipe for Easter nest cakes then the children will be making the cakes.
The children will be making an Easter card and also 'sewing' an Easter basket to put their Easter nest cake inside.
They will be sorting flower heads into colours then using them to make a repeating pattern. They will also be using stampers to copy patterns on Easter egg shapes.
At the Writing table, they will be practising their pencil control by completing the snail and butterfly writing patterns.
In the Water tray the children will be looking for numbers hidden inside eggs. They may be asked to find two numbers the same or to find a number which comes after 4 or 6, etc.
We will be recapping the Easter story then going on a Spring walk around the school grounds to look for signs of new life. The children will have a turn at egg rolling down the hill. I wonder whose egg will roll the furthest?
The children will be using Purple Mash on the computer to decorate an egg and they will also use the My World Screens to access Easter activities such as ordering different sized Easter eggs.
In the garden role play area, the children will be practising 'Ga I blodyn Coch/ Melyn/ Glas/Gwyrdd?'
