Round and round the garden Week 4

Our Guided reading this week is 'Ticw tu Allan' with a focus of answering questions related to the text.
The children will be learning about the traditions of Mothering Sunday then talking about their own mothers.
We will be using the Outdoor classroom to compare objects by size and height and length. The children will be encouraged to use different words to describe and compare objects. They will then make a flower as tall as themself and use the flowers to order according to height.
In the Sand, they will be seeing how many sand castles they can build before the sand timer runs out.
In the Water, they will practise pouring and filling and talking about full/empty/ half full.
We will be using a dice to roll then counting the spots on the dice to see how many petals need to be made to put on their flower. They will be asked 'Who has more/ less petals? How many more petals do you need to fill your flower? How many more dots on the dice do you need to complete your flower?'
We will be using Bee Bot and a garden mat to practise forwards/ backwards and left/ right turns.
In RE, the children will listen to 'A last meal together' then answer questions about the story. They will use the Home Corner to prepare Jesus' last meal.
In the Role play area, they will sort and order numbered plant pots either by size or numbers.
