We have had a busy week getting to grips with computer programming at Cornist. We believe that it is important to teach our children computational thinking and problem solving to equip them for future careers. KS2 have been using the fantastic 2Code from Purple Mash to introduce coding. It was amazing to see all the children engaged and working through the challenges on screen.
Click on the links to see what Year 3 have been programming on 2Code:
Fun with Fish programmed by Phoebe
Fun with Fish programmed by Bobby and Harley: Click on the fish to see what the boys have programmed them to do!
Haunted scenes programmed by Connor & Niamh: Click on the bat and the skeleton to see what they have been programmed to do!
Don't forget Purple Mash can be accessed at home if your child wants to continue their learning independently at home.
We were also fortunate enough to have Mike Elliot from Welsh Government teaching the Year Five children how to use Scratch. We aim to make a game of Pac Man using Scratch over the next few weeks. Watch this space for more information!
