Rec/Year 1 Stars

Lexie is our Literacy star this week because she thought of different questions to write down after looking at different events in pictures. She used a variety of words and remembered to put a question mark at the end of each sentence. Gwaith da, Lexie.
Jacob is our Numeracy star this week because he worked out doubles correctly during our fishing game and was able to count on accurately. He also loved playing the fishing game!! Well done, Jacob.
Grace is our Seren Cymraeg Y'r Wythnos because she was able to correctly identify the clothes which were 'mawr' and 'bach' and she understood the phrase 'Pwy biau'r dillad mawr?' Da iawn, Grace.

Visit from Fflic a Fflac

On Tuesday, Fflic and Fflac came to school. They talked to us in Welsh and we joined in with singing some welsh songs. We all enjoyed watching their antics then had our photograph taken with them at the end of the show.

Proud children

Congratulations to all these clever children who have filled their star badges/cards.

Hard at work

Some children have been making up jigsaw sentences by using a piece with a capital letter to start, two more jigsaw pieces in the middle then a piece with a full stop at the end. They then read out their sentence, copied it into their book then drew a picture to accompany it.

Filled badge!

Well done to Niamh and Jacob for filling their reward badge/card. Keep up the good work!!

Who are stars this week?

Grace did some excellent work on comparing and measuring with non standard units so she is our Numeracy star this week. Da iawn Grace.

Isaac worked hard writing instructions for how to make a Christingle and earned himself 'Literacy Star' of the week. Well done, Isaac.

Isabell had fun making a kite then flying it outside. During the activity, she tried to use the Welsh language patterns we have been working on. Gwaith da, Isabell, our Seren Cymraeg y'r Wythnos.

Hard working children

A double congratulations to Evie because not only has she filled her star badge but she is also a proud big sister to Lottie. I'm sure you are going to love her very much!
Congratulations to Isabelle for filling her sticker chart. Continue the good work and it won't be long before you fill your second chart!
Lillymay, Jacob and Owen were last week's stars but I didn't post their photographs so here they are.

Two more hard working children who have filled their reward charts. Well done, Hari and Jamie.

Shining stars

Lillymay is this week's Literacy star. She listened carefully to the story about Billy the bully then gave her opinions on the characters and how they might be feeling. She also contributed to the group 'place mat' activity afterwards. Well done, Lillymay.
Owen is this week's Numeracy star. He worked hard identifying whether the different shapes had curved, straight or both curved and straight sides then was able to record those facts in a table. Great work, Owen.
Jacob is our Seren Cymraeg Yr Wythnos. He has been trying very hard to use more Welsh around the classroom and did some fabulous recording work during Helpwr Heddiw activities. Gwaith da, Jacob.
