Our celebrations...

Congratulations firstly to Lugh for being our Welsh Speaker of the Week! I have been very impressed with his ability to learn new vocabulary and to remember words already taught...ardderchog Lugh!
I have awarded Georgia the Literacy Worker of the Week, as she never fails to impress with her writing skills...well deserved Georgia!
And finally, congratulations to Courtney who has won the Numeracy Worker of the Week award for making very pleasing progress in her problem solving skills this week, well done Courtney!

What we've been up to this week...

We have now started our new topic on Africa...we have called it Hakuna Matata (suggested by Dominic and received the most votes). We have been learning to convert between units of measure and solve problems involving measures. In English, as you know from this week's learning log task, we are studying how to write biographies and in Welsh lesson we are learning how to talk in past tense. We've had fun in Science this week, conducting investigations on dissolving...

Lots more interesting activities planned for next week.

Congratulations

Well done to the following children on becoming our Reception stars this week;

Numeracy - Caiden for having a good understanding of ordinal numbers and really enjoying our car racing!
Literacy - Carmelina for lovely instructional writing about building a snowman
Seren Cymraeg Yr Wythnos - Max for super work based on Ble mae?

Rec/Year 1 Stars

Lexie is our Literacy star this week because she thought of different questions to write down after looking at different events in pictures. She used a variety of words and remembered to put a question mark at the end of each sentence. Gwaith da, Lexie.
Jacob is our Numeracy star this week because he worked out doubles correctly during our fishing game and was able to count on accurately. He also loved playing the fishing game!! Well done, Jacob.
Grace is our Seren Cymraeg Y'r Wythnos because she was able to correctly identify the clothes which were 'mawr' and 'bach' and she understood the phrase 'Pwy biau'r dillad mawr?' Da iawn, Grace.

How do websites try to get you to buy things?

By Rhys, Isaac and Dylan.

This week Year 3/4 have been looking at how websites use persuasive techniques to try and persuade us to buy things. We then used Purple Mash to create a web page and tried to include some of the techniques used by real websites to sell our products.
