WELCOME TO YEAR ONE AND TWO "c"
I am sure you are all more than ready to return your children to school and eager to settle them into their new class. I KNOW I AM!! I am looking forward to working with yourselves and your children this year.
I am going to add some of our class information if I miss something or you need too ask me anything I am always happy to help. If you do not get chance to speak to me during a school day then you can email me on cornistipad5@gmail.com and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
DROP OFF/COLLECTION ARRANGEMENTS.
If your child attends breakfast club then arrangements remain the same. Drop off from 8.00 am parking in the appropriate bays. Children will be encouraged to independently take their property to their class areas.
The usual year 1/2 cloakroom doors are located at the rear of the building. This year four classes will be using that cloakroom. So we have made the decision that all year 1/2 pupils will enter and exit from their external class room doors. This will ease congestion and also allow you to have daily contact with class staff. The main cloakroom doors will be open but only for the access of year 3/4 pupils.
External classroom doors will be open from 8.40 am (earlier if raining). Children will be encouraged to independently enter and take responsibility for their property. It is really important that your child arrives to school promptly as we set our learning objectives for the day during registration. The register closes at 9.00 am. At home time children will also exit from the external at 3.10pm.
It is always appreciated if collection arrangements can be passed on to the classroom staff; (nursery pick ups, other family members etc)
I am aware that the car park can be at peak times very congested but it you could be punctual this would be appreciated. As I run many after school clubs and need to supervise the children who are attending.
WALKING BUS
In the spring term year Two children are encouraged to join the initiative to develop independence and road safety awareness.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical education is a core component of the school curriculum. Primary years are significant in the motor development for children. Basic but fundamental skills are developed embedding physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle. It is compulsory that children participate and are provided with the correct kit weekly.
Children remain in their house colour groups until they leave the school. Children often become a bit confused if they change their CLASSROOM colour group; then they often think they need another PE t-shirt. This is not the case.
