Game based learning, the beginning ......

FACT: Children love Minecraft!
FACT: Children learn best when they are engaged and having fun!
With this in mind and after speaking to Allen Heard, ICT teacher at Ysgol Bryn Elian we were inspired at the educational value Minecraft has to offer.

This week KS2 have been linking their digital lessons with their literacy skills to form a balanced argument to present to our Governors and demonstrate that they have considered the advantages and disadvantages of using Minecraft as an educational tool. The title was 'Should we be allowed Minecraft in school?' Each class used a success criteria to help them create a balanced argument using Keynote on the iPads. The best presentations have been chosen today and will be presented to our Governors next Monday morning.

Lets hope they can persuade the Governors to let us buy Minecraft for the iPads and begin our game based learning adventure! Watch this space! :-)
