Introducing programming in KS2

The focus for this half term in ICT is programming and KS2 have begun developing their programming skills this week. We began by looking at giving precise instructions/commands when making a jam sandwich and this provided us with a great opportunity to learn about debugging! We then played human robots on the playground using logo language to 'programme' our partners. Next we split into groups to explore programming using ICT equipment.

Group 1: This group used apps on the iPad. they worked through the challenges on Daisy the Dinosaur and A.L.E.X.

Group 2: This group used the laptops to access 2Go on Purple Mash.

Group 3: This group used the Bee-Bot to consolidate skills developed in Foundation Phase and link with measure and co-ordinates.


Group 4: This group became familiar with using Pro-Bots and completed various challenges.
