Celebrations this week.....

Another very busy week in Year 5/6b and so much good work completed....da iawn pawb!

We started our Class novel 'Carrie's War' this week and used our Reading Powers to help us understand the story and think about the main characters, Carrie and Nick. In response to the first couple of chapters, we wrote letters home to Mum from Carrie or Nick telling her of the events of their first day as evacuees.

Everybody worked hard and we had some super letters which you can see on display in class - our star of the week and Literacy star this week have both been chosen because of the hard work they put into this task. Molly showed excellent improvement in her writing skills, making great progress with her targets and Hannah wrote a fantastic letter which demonstrated an excellent understanding of the story and empathy for the characters - bendigedig merched!

All children also gave an oral presentation to the class this week too about a hobby/interest outside school - I was very impressed with the overall standard of these, bendigedig pawb - so many varied interests and hidden talents!! Aaron received a literacy star of the week award for his confident, well planned and interesting presentation about dinosaurs, super work, well done!

Lots of children are working hard in Welsh and are trying to use our phrases of the week with their friends/teachers in class and around school, keep it up!

Jack has particularly impressed me with his use of Welsh this week and has been awarded our 'Seren Cymraeg' Da iawn Jack.

And finally.... Happy 10th Birthday wishes  to Bradley from us all, we hope you enjoyed your day.
