Round and round the garden Week 3

During Small Group time, we will be concentrating on v, y, x and qu letter sounds then making CVC words. Also, we will be looking at number recognition to 10 and ordering a random set of numbers. Our Guided Reading is instructions on how to grow a sunflower then the children will plant their own seed. We will also be using the story 'Mouse finds a seed'. At the Writing table, the children will be drawing different coloured flowers then labelling them in Welsh. Our Maths focus this week is sorting pictures of different parts of a plant then using the laminated flower parts to make a tall and a short flower. The children will be asked to make another flower not as tall as the first one but taller than the shorter one. In the Sand tray the children will be matching numbered flowers to numbered sand filled plant pots then having a go at ordering the plants pots from 1 to 5 or 10. We will be talking about Palm Sunday in RE and the children will listen to the story 'A Donkey for the King'. They will learn a new song 'We have a King who rides a donkey' and they will make palm leaves and build a 'road' for Jesus and the donkey to walk along.
