Kipper's Toybox Week 7

We will be introducing three more letter sounds this week. They are l, f  and b.
For our Guided reading, we will be using a Welsh book called 'Sam a Non'. The children will be drawing the characters then labelling them in Welsh. They will also be playing 'Snap' and 'Pairs' with the characters.
In the Sand, the children will be identifying the Numicon pieces and matching them to plastic numerals, then placing the exact amount of jewels over the Numicon pieces. They will be counting in English and in Welsh.
In the Water, the children will be looking for different foam letters and saying the sound then trying to think of something beginning with that sound. Some of the children will be making CVC words to try to read by building up the letter sounds.
At the Creative Area, the children will be choosing a letter sound then painting something beginning with that sound.
To finish off our RE theme of 'Friends', the children will listen to the story 'Twelve Special Friends' and find out about Jesus' special friends. They will be asking themselves 'Am I a good friend?'
In the Toy Shop, the children will be doing a sorting and labelling activity with the toys. Is the toy wheeled or soft or plastic or hard or noisy or wooden?
