Mystery Skype in Year 5

This week Year 5 took part in a Mystery Skype lesson. It is a global guessing game that allows children to connect with other schools from around the world. We began the lesson at 1pm by focusing on our mapping skills using an atlas and using Google Maps on the iPads. We then assigned roles such as questioners, note takers, map readers, problem solvers, photographer etc. At 2pm our iPad began ringing and our Mystery Skype began! We began by asking if their school was in Europe and eventually narrowed it down with our questioning skills to discover that the other class were from Kendal, Cumbria. The whole class worked successfully as a team and we managed to guess the location of the other class correctly before they guessed our location!  We can't wait for the next Mystery Skype now!
